Server Storage. Server storage refers to the amount of space you have available on a server for your website. Typically, 1 GB of storage is sufficient for a standard website. However, for a high-quality site with significant traffic, you will need more space. NVMe SSD servers represent the most advanced technology in storage, offering incredibly fast speeds—900% faster than traditional servers. Bandwidth. Bandwidth (monthly traffic) measures the amount of data transferred to and from your website over a given period, usually a month. It reflects the online interaction of your site and is influenced by the number of visitors you receive. For example, a site with 10,000 monthly visitors generally requires between 5-8 GB of monthly bandwidth.
Hosting is the "home" for your website. It makes your website visible and accessible on the internet. Web hosting is the most common method for hosting over 98.99% of websites. This means a hosting company has one or more servers—computers that are continuously connected to the internet and run software (like Linux or Windows servers) to support the operation of multiple websites. Except in cases where a website is particularly resource-intensive or requires substantial bandwidth (traffic), web hosting is the most cost-effective way to maintain a real website. With hosting, you can have your own IP address, and your site will not be distinguishable from other users' websites.
Certainly! As long as the domain is registered under your name and personal or business details, you own the domain until at least 30 days after it expires. This means you have full control over the domain—you can transfer or sell it as you wish! There are no restrictions on moving your domain to a new host, other than the technical details related to its security and ownership.
Immediately after making the payment and after its verification, which is usually completed automatically within a few minutes, the system is configured to automatically set up the server for you. All you need to do is check your email, follow the instructions, receive the details, and start working!
When you type www.ams.al into your browser, a question arises: how does the computer find that exact webpage? The computer essentially "asks" DNS servers for assistance. DNS servers guide users on where to locate a specific webpage. This process is more complex than it appears, but this description covers about 85% of its fundamental functions. A Name Server is simply a computer that is always connected to the internet. It translates IP addresses into more readable names for us. Instead of using an incomprehensible number like https://148.163.126.71, we can simply use ams.al. When you register a domain name for your website, you will need two name servers to determine where your website will be directed. Of course, this is automatically managed by our system when you purchase your hosting package!
Each hosting package comes with a specific control panel. The two types of control panels offered by ams.al are WHM/cPanel and Plesk. Linux hosting packages come with WHM/cPanel, while Windows hosting comes with Plesk. IT users choose the platform based on their preferences. The same applies to hosting control panels. Both work excellently and meet client needs. Both control panels allow you to configure your website, view statistics, configure emails, view files uploaded to the server, etc. The main difference is the way they are organized. Keep in mind that cPanel is more widely used. cPanel comes with its own dedicated control panel, WHM (Web Host Manager). In this case, cPanel is for managing websites, while WHM is for managing cPanel accounts.
A domain name is a name you can use to establish your unique presence on the internet – for example, ams.al. Just like your postal address allows anyone in the world to send a letter to your home or office, your domain name is a way for people to find your website or email address, and/or mailbox, if you have one.
Domain parking allows (for a small fee or for free, as in our case where you only need to have a hosting account with us to park as many domains as you want) a special domain to be reserved for future use and display a page known as "under construction." You can register a domain and not park it anywhere, but in this case, your site will be inaccessible until you have a web host.
Subdomains are extensions of the main domain. For example, on the main site of ofris.al, you can access it via ofris.al, while the Italian version of the site can be accessed via it.ofris.al. In this case, "it" is a subdomain.
An add-on domain is a fully functional domain that utilizes a folder in the main FTP account. You cannot create an add-on domain if your DNS has not yet been added to the server. With us, this is automatic and functional! When creating an add-on domain, cPanel requires 3 pieces of information: "New Domain Name": Enter newdomain.com without "www" in the name field. "Username/directory/subdomain Name": This will be the new folder created by cPanel in your main FTP account. Ensure the name you provide does not already belong to an existing folder. For example, if you want to name the username amek, you cannot have a folder named amek in your account; otherwise, you will create a conflict. "Password": Choose a strong password.
